Paul Mackay Paul Mackay, born 1946 in Hong Kong, studied economics in Rotterdam and business administration in Fontainebleau. After some years of work in international finance, he met and studied Anthroposophy in England and Germany (1974 - 1977). From 1977 until 2002 Paul Mackay was active in anthroposophical banking as cofounder and managing director of Triodos Bank in the Netherlands and executive director of GLS Bank in Germany. Both banks are well known for realising the concept of social banking in the banking sector. Since 2004 he is a member and since 2007 chairman of the Supervisory Board of GLS Bank. Since 1996 Paul Mackay is a member of the Executive Council of the General Anthroposophical Society. Since 2000 he is also the leader of the Section for Social Sciences of the School of Spiritual Science at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland. Paul Mackay lives in Dornach, is married and has three sons. Sue Simpson Sue has worked as a nurse, eurythmist, teacher and as principal of the Taikura Rudolf Steiner School, Hastings. In July 2006 she stepped into the position of General Secretary of the Anthroposophical Society in New Zealand. Originally from Australia she has had the opportunity to live work in a number of countries including Europe, Russia and New Zealand. This exposure to other cultures accentuated for her the possibility of strengthening communities through appreciating the differences. In Taikura Rudolf Steiner School she was intimately involved in the restructuring process in management which many of the anthroposophical institutions in New Zealand have faced. She now has the possibility to work with institutions and initiatives on such themes as those that address the spiritual impulses that sustain and fire us in our work. As General Secretary she is able to connect and connect with members throughout NZ, responding to the requests and impulses of individuals and initiatives. While working with people in a number of fields, her specific areas of interest are eurythmy, youth, education and the School of Spiritual Science. |
