Paul and HelenHello my name is Helen Caunce, I am 21 years old. I live in Derbyshire in Great Britain and went to Michael House Rudolf Steiner School, where both my parents teach. In September my partner (Paul, 23) and I are going travelling around the world. We are planning to spend 4-5 months travelling around Asia before heading to Australia and then onto South America. We are planning on spending about 2 months in Australia with the possibility of doing some work. We would be very grateful if any parents, teachers or schools would be able to accommodate us for a short time around March-April time ’08. We would be willing to do some work for anyone willing to have us. We are both youth workers within our local community working with a range of young people aged 11-19yrs. We both hold Single Pitch Supervisory Awards (climbing), Summer Mountain Leader Awards and do lots of team building activities with young people at work. We will be willing to share any of these skills or produce a presentation of our journey so far. If you are interested or know of any other organisation that may be able to help us along the way please contact us at hele_c@hotmail.co.uk Many Thanks Paul and Helen |
Pelangi Steiner Inspired School (Indonesia)REQUEST FOR USED BOOKS --- PELANGI STEINER-INSPIRED SCHOOL. UBUD, BALI This is an exciting time for us at Pelangi. We have had a great first year. The Kindy program is delightful under Jen Anderson's guidance, and, the early primary school has had a beautiful journey this year. I love working with the Waldorf curriculum and methods and want to keep learning and growing for the benefit of all. And, since I am not able to leave Bali to study Steiner Education elsewhere, I am delighted that we are able to bring in a Steiner teacher for next year. We're preparing for the second year of our school which means forming the non-profit foundation, hiring new Indonesian teachers, administrative positions and building two new buildings. We are also working toward building a library for students and teachers. We just received a donation from a school in Osaka of over 200 books which is such a great start! If you have or know of anyone interested in donating used books we would be so grateful! This year, we had borrowed early readers from a family for the early primary children—their reading, spelling and writing abilities soared. We'll have to return the series in 2008 to our lending family. We would like to expand our readers as there aren't enough for children during our daily reading sessions. The other type of books we long for are for teachers—story books, poetry, songs, recorder songs, verses, activities and Steiner Education resource material. Maybe there are some used books that Steiner schools have multiples of, or parents or teachers who would be willing to donate. Acquiring books in the early years of a new school is a challenge… we appreciate every single book donated! If you can help, please contact Dawn Weidemann – www.pelangiubud.org or pelangi@gmail.com |

Eurythmy Association of Great Britain
Dear Colleagues in the English Speaking
Regions of Steiner/Waldorf Education
As you may know the Eurythmy Association of
Great Britain and Ireland was re-founded at a conference/EGM in Botton
Village, UK in July 2006. In accordance with our third statute: the
Association exists to further the inner and outer work of eurythmy and
eurythmists in Great Britain and Ireland and to facilitate communication
about all aspects of eurythmy. To this end the Council of the
Association has now put in place administrative structures to allow the
Association to function and we are encouraging all eurythmists
throughout the British Isles to join to allow this vital work to go
forward. Eurythmy colleagues from overseas are welcome to join as
overseas members or as a friend/supporter. Details of how to join maybe
obtained from the Secretary as detailed below.
We would also like to ask all the
Steiner/Waldorf Federations throughout the English Speaking world to ask
their members to ensure that ALL eurythmical vacancies for work in
Steiner-Waldorf Schools that their members may choose to advertise in
the British Isles (UK and Republic of Ireland) are forwarded to the
Association for inclusion in our newsletters and on our website which
we hope to have active from February 2007. We would be most grateful if
you could circulate both of the above points to all member, associate
and sponsored Schools and Early Years Centres throughout your region in
your next email/post bulletin(s). Please also feel free to forward this
email to other colleagues for whom it may be relevant.
We look forward to hearing back from you in
the near future.
With best wishes for your ongoing work.

Brazilian Waldorf SchoolWe are from a Brazilian Waldorf School, lead by an non-profit association. At the moment we are planning to expand our school from the early ages years to the end of high school. We have received grants from a German foundation and now we need more support to make our project possible. Would you know any donor or company that would provide grants for building infra-structure? If so, how can we proceed? |
