Candlenut Steiner School

Candlenut Steiner School is located on a 42 acre property and is a beautiful and tranquil place where children have access to wide open spaces cocooned by rainforest. There are multiple rainforest walking tracks that meander through the property, passing through a unique wildlife corridor, abundant with local animal and plant life, and leading to seasonal creeks. The school is a five minute walk from the beautiful Barron River. There are two school buses that run from Cairns and Smithfield.

                                                              
The school is a member of the RSSA and currently offers playgroup, Kindergarten and Prep through to year seven. The school intends to develop a secondary school as soon as possible. At Candlenut, each child is encouraged to reach his or her full potential in a nurturing, peaceful and respectful environment. Through creative and caring teaching practices, our teachers work to inspire the individual to unfold and develop that which lies within, so that he or she may go forth into adulthood, able to impart direction and meaning to their own lives.
