Back to Steiner Schools in Australia
The school has their own web site at www.trinitygps.sa.edu.au
The Steiner Stream at Trinity Gardens Primary School has had a successful first year with Reception and a composite class 1 / 2, running to capacity. We are pleased that we have been able to attract an experienced Steiner teacher for the new Class 1 in 2007, and that places for both reception and class 1 are fully booked for 2007.
The three Steiner Stream classrooms are housed in carefully prepared classrooms in a solid old brick building, and there is also a communal space for cooking, arts and crafts. All the classrooms have been painted in a sequence of gentle colours appropriate for each age group, all children have wooden specially made desks, and there are natural materials throughout all classrooms.
The Steiner Stream is a fully integrated part of Trinity Gardens Primary School, the children wear the school uniform and attend most school functions, and the teachers of the Steiner Stream select the outings and activities that are most congruent with the Steiner Curriculum. Main Lessons, as well as art and craft lessons follow the Steiner curriculum. Specialist subjects are taught by the Trinity Gardens specialist teachers, with consideration to the Steiner approach. We are still hoping to add Eurythmy to our timetable in the coming year, and are expecting string instruments for all children in Class 3 to begin in 2008.
The seasonal festivals are celebrated with all Steiner Stream classes together with their parents and families.
The Steiner Stream at Trinity Gardens Primary School is backed by the ASEA – Adelaide Steiner Education Association, which supports playgroups in various suburbs and aims to run a Kindergarten in 2007. ASEA also organises parenting workshops and seminars on various aspects of Steiner Education
