Au Pair, Illinois, USA

Chicago, Illinois USA Family Seeks Au Pair with Waldorf Background .

My wife and I are 34 and 44 respectively.  My wife is a therapist (social work counselor) but recently left her job to pursue an in home therapy  with my younger son, Jason.  (More details about that are below)  I am an attorney specializing in immigration law.

My older son Kirk is 8 years old and attends Four Winds Waldorf School which is located in Warrenville Illinois.  He is a very intelligent, talkative kid who likes to ask a lot of questions.  Kirk is very good hearted.  He is very kind to younger kids and has great manners with children and adults.  Kirk takes karate lessons twice a week and recently started with piano lessons.   He loves to read although he struggles a bit with his writing.  My wife and I feel that he is not getting the attention he needs from us due to the demands of his younger brother’s disability.  (See below for more details)

My younger son Jason is 7 years old.   Jason was born a perfectly healthy child but immediately regressed at 18 months old after being given some vaccines.  At age 2 ½ he was diagnosed with autism.  He was pretty bad at first but recovered some when we started him on a Gluten/Cassein free diet.  Jason is now more interactive with the rest of our family.  Jason can be very affectionate with us and his smile lights up a room.  He is very gifted in sports, particularly gymnastics and we have set up room in our basement for him and Kirk to have fun.

My wife and I are very involved with the kids but could use some help.  We live in a far west Suburb of Chicago called Yorkville, Illinois.  It is near some pretty major University such as Northern Illinois University, Aurora University and others.  I work late about once a week and my wife needs help at night with the kids.  We also run an all organic household so we need help with cooking and also involving the kids with cooking and other household tasks.  At least one of us has energy to read and play games with the kids after school but sometimes it takes two energetic people do this, one for each kid.
