Lorien Novalis is a dynamic and creative school for Steiner education.

We have been providing a real alternative to mainstream education in Australia since 1971. The school offers a comprehensive and diverse curriculum based on the principles of Rudolf Steiner, to students from Pre-School to Year Twelve. KINDERGARTEN TEACHER

Applications are invited from a suitably qualified kindergarten teacher for Bairnsdale Steiner Kindergarten to commence Term 4, 2010. The teacher must have an early childhood degree (Bachelor level) that is recognised in Victoria (primary teaching degrees are not accepted).

This is a part-time position of 19 hours per week running a licensed kindergarten program which operates on Thursdays and Fridays. There is also the possibility of a three year old Steiner kindergarten group as well as additional work in local mainstream kindergartens for those interested.

Bairnsdale Steiner Kindergarten was established in 2004 and the Steiner group also runs two playgroups in the area.

Bairnsdale, a rural town of approximately 10,000 people is close to the extensive Gippsland Lakes, the ocean, forests and snowfields and is a three hour drive from Melbourne. The town has a thriving arts community and is home to the Organic Agriculture Association.

Candlenut Steiner School opened as Cairns Rudolf Steiner School in 2002 with 25 children accommodated in a small house in Stratford. Our 40 acre bush property in Kuranda, a beautiful, tranquil place traversed by walking tracks and seasonal creeks, with a 10 minute walk to the lovely Barron River, was purchased six years later, as a permanent school site. After our move to our permanent site in 2008, the school was renamed Candlenut Steiner School, and at present enrolments are around 130 students. The candlenut tree is a native bush tucker tree found in the area and, in its simplest form, means ‘seed of light’, symbolizing enlightenment, peace and protection. The school offers kindergarten and preschool through to class 7, with intention to commence secondary school in 2011.

Cairns is a friendly multicultural tropical city of around 120,000 residents in Far North Queensland, Australia . It attracts people from all over the world, and is flanked by the sea, with the world famous Great Barrier Reef, and world heritage rainforest. The picturesque mountain retreat of Kuranda Village, 25km northwest of Cairns, is a small, very beautiful tropical village hidden amongst the rainforest.

 Teacher:         Thornbury Primary School is looking for a creative energetic and                                 experienced teacher to take on the challenges associated with the role of a Steiner teacher in a Government School.

Position:         Initially the teacher’s contract will be for 3 years (2011-2013) with the                      Department of Education and Early Childhood Development – Victoria                       (DEECD).

Little Yarra Steiner School is looking for an inspiring and energetic Singing Teacher to join our vibrant music program.

The position involves taking a variety of small class based choirs from Class 2 up to Class 10 level once a week. Some of these sessions are with single classes others combine various age groups.

These lessons form part of our well-established and internationally recognised Music Program
It is possible that this work could be augmented with some private lesson teaching.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Soft Handwork Teacher to work two afternoons per week with primary school children.

The right person to fill the Receptionist position in our friendly Admin team will present with integrity, honesty and have excellent communication skills.  This is a 5 day per week position with the possibility of job sharing.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a level of skill in reception and other areas of office administration, including email, cash receipts, banking and have some experience with QuickBooks or similar bookkeeping program. Database and petty cash experience are also required.

 

Experience in a busy working environment with an interrupted daily routine is considered important. A current First Aid certificate and experience in a strong community organisation would be preferred.

 

Salary is based on Mumbulla School Support Staff Agreement 2007-2010.
