2007 – Crystal Brook Farm - Narre Warren East Campus

Now Open (Classes 3 to 6)

The Dandenong Ranges Steiner School is currently on the outskirts of Melbourne set in the beautiful farming area of Menzies Creek and also at Narre Warren East.

At the start of this year Classes 3 to 6 moved to the new site of Crystal Brook Farm in Narre Warren East.  At the start of 2008 we plan to move two more classes to the new site as well.

The Crystal Brook Campus is located amongst the trees and Kangaroos approximately 8 km from our current site, being on the border of Menzies Creek/Narre Warren East.  The site is adjoining the Cardinia Reservoir and Crystal Brook Park.

Please call for our next tour and upcoming events.

The school aims to meet the needs of the whole child. By embracing thinking, feeling and willing as equally important aspects of the developing child, its purpose extends beyond satisfying current trends. Rather the child is in an environment conducive to the gentle unfolding of his or her true potential.

Playgroup

Playgroup's gentle rhythm includes morning circle, fruit sharing and story telling. Playgroup is also an opportunity to meet like minded people, to share ideas on parenting, find out more about Waldorf (Steiner) Education, have a little fun and make new friends.

Kindergarten

A Steiner kindergarten offers a gentle, homely environment. All the play things have come from nature or are handmade from natural materials. Play is the major focus. It is the child's kinder "work". The kinder day includes songs, rhymes, games, stories, artistic activities, and preparation of morning tea.

We offer a mixed aged Kindergarten programme.  Children attend either two or four sessions per week (depending on age).

Primary

A simple principle underlies Steiner Education: The child develops through stages that reflect the great cultural epochs. Nothing is taught for its own sake, but within the context of how human culture developed, thus building up the child’s own sense of humanity.

At the centre of the curriculum are the needs of the developing child. Each subject is integrated with Storytelling and the Arts and offers the child nourishment for the head, the heart and the hands.

A rich childhood is the best guarantee of successful adulthood and we present the traditional academic subjects as well as a wide variety of artistic and cultural activities.

The Curriculum in Classes 1 - 6 includes weekly classes in Craft, Painting, Eurhythmy, German, Music and Sport.

We are currently accepting enrolments for various classes, some waiting lists apply. We also run 4 Playgroups and have regular Study Groups, Discussion Groups, Information evenings and Workshops etc. We also have a Babysitting Club.
