Steiner by the Sea Playgroup

Back to Steiner Schools in Australia

Our co-ordinator is Nicola Philip and the group is currently meeting at Apollo Bay Youth Club, contact Nicola Philp thephilps@aapt.net.au

Steiner by the Sea is a Steiner-inspired, not-for-profit playgroup for newborn to kindergarten aged (0-7yo) children.  We meet every Monday during school term from 10am to 12pm and our leader guides us through the rhythm of the session's activities, which begins with dough shaping then free play, with season-inspired craft activities using natural materials for parents.  After a quick tidy up we have morning circle, with songs and fruit salad for morning tea at approx 11am.  Weather permitting, the children are then encouraged to play outside on the grass, in the garden or in the sandpit and playgroup ends with sharing of bread and story telling.

We charge a fee per session (payable weekly or at a discounted term rate) and are happy to offer discounts to those families in need of financial support.  Families are encouraged to bring a piece of fruit to share for morning tea and you will be rostered on once a term for dough making or set up/pack up of the venue.  We also encourage ongoing members to become a member of Playgroup Victoria.  Please contact our current co-ordinator, Nicola Philp (thephilps@aapt.net.au) for more information or just come along for a play and see what we are all about (first session is free)!

Please phone Playgroup Leader Lyndi on 03 5237 7903 if you are interested in coming along. We have 2 main festivals yearly for Winter Solstice and Spring all welcome more info to follow.
